We have a 14pt white paper available with semi-gloss or in matte (uncoated). This is our ‘lightest’ paper offering for business card printing services. A semi-gloss coating will make the card slightly ‘slick’, with an elegant sheen and popping colors. The matte card will showcase the grain and texture of the paper. We recommend the matte paper options for a card that will probably be written on, such as appointment cards where you will want to fill in a date for a customer, or a card with other such customization. In 14pt weight we also offer stardream metallic crystal white, an ethereal paper with a subtle pearlescent sheen that still takes up ink in sharp and true colors. We also have a slightly heavier paper, 16pt, in fine finch matte and semi-gloss. The same advice and constraints as described above will apply to the matte and the semi-gloss here, except that with a heavier paper, the matte will have even more of a rich, visible texture. In 16pt we also have a classic linen solar white, which makes for a paper with a unique, almost rough-fabric-like grain that makes a perfect writing surface in pencil or pen. Still heavier are the 17pt royal sundance felt ultra white, which, as the name implies, has a lovely felt appearance, and the 17.5pt eggshell white. These papers are an excellent balance of heaviness and texture with economy, as well as excellent writing surfaces. Finally, there is the 28pt super cover semi-gloss. 28pt stocks are rigid, almost unbendable, with a rich, heavy feel and handsome grain and texture, and are best showcased with minimalist ink usage, to emphasize the texture of the paper. As a general rule we advise gloss papers for designs that incorporate a lot of printed area and bright colors, as the gloss acts as an enhancer for our printer inks.
