Wrapping Options

With your MDF stretcher frame in tow you now have 4 different options for how you want to wrap your stretched canvas, with all offering the wrapping depth of 1.5". Your stretched canvas can no doubt benefit from each and every one of these options, but depending on what you're looking for, one may be better than the others. The first of these wrapping options is folded edge. This is very much the classic look for stretched canvas, we simply pull the artwork or design past the edge such that the very artwork itself is what's used to hold it in place. Often people like the 3D effect the folded wrap provides for their stretched canvas. The downside to such a choice is that some of your design isn't visible from the front, which may not be great if you're relying on the complete picture to send a message or have wording that may be cut off. Mirror Image wrapping makes use of the sides of your stretched canvas in a different way, by instead showing off a sliver of reflection of the edges of your artwork. The complete picture is displayed in the front, but again if the reflection may cause confusion, it's not likely to be the right decision for you. The other two options, white edge and black edge wrappings, also display the full picture from the front. The difference with these is that instead of displaying your artwork or a reflection of it from the sides, everyone will simply see either white paint or black paint, respectively. This is an excellent choice for minimizing opportunity for confusion and making use of artwork that needs a clear area for display on the stretched canvas. It has the added benefit of making any wording clear and central to the piece of stretched canvas.
